About the Department

The College was established in 1978; the Department of Chemistry followed in 1979-80, affiliated to S.V. University, Tirupati. The Department combines academic instruction with attention to students’ overall personal development, not just subject knowledge.

Curriculum Overview

The course builds a fundamental knowledge of chemistry and its real-world applications. In the final year, students study polymer chemistry, instrumental methods of analysis, and the analysis of drugs and dairy products. On completion, students can explain periodic properties; the preparation and properties of halogens, alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amides, carbonyl compounds, amino acids and proteins; carbohydrate structures; and qualitative/quantitative analytical methods.
