The Right to Information Act, 2005 empowers every Indian citizen to request information from any public authority, with a view to promoting transparency and accountability in government functioning. Government Degree College, Nagari, being a State Government institution, is a public authority under the Act and is committed to responding to RTI requests within the statutory timeline.

• Information must ordinarily be provided within 30 days of receiving a valid request.
• If the request concerns the life or liberty of a person, the timeline is 48 hours.
• A first appeal may be filed with the Appellate Authority if a request is refused or unanswered.

How to Apply

1. Write a request in English, Telugu, or Hindi, clearly specifying the information sought, addressed to the Public Information Officer (Principal) at the address above — or apply online via the Andhra Pradesh RTI portal below.
2. Enclose the prescribed application fee.
3. The PIO will respond within 30 days (or 48 hours for matters concerning life or liberty).
4. If unsatisfied with the response, a first appeal may be filed with the College’s Appellate Authority, followed by a second appeal to the Andhra Pradesh Information Commission if necessary.
