The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) promotes a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for women students and staff on the campus.

About the Cell

WEC organises awareness programmes, skill-building workshops, legal-rights sessions, and observes important days such as International Women’s Day. It also serves alongside the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address any case of sexual harassment at the workplace under the POSH Act, 2013.

Objectives
  • Promote equal opportunity, safety, and dignity for all women on campus.
  • Build awareness of legal, social, and economic rights of women.
  • Encourage leadership and confidence-building among women students.
  • Provide a safe space to discuss issues affecting women.
Activities
  • Awareness sessions on the POSH Act, 2013 and women’s legal rights.
  • Self-defence workshops and skill-development training.
  • Observance of International Women’s Day (8 March).
  • Health and hygiene awareness camps.
  • Guest lectures by women achievers from various fields.
